About
Hey, I'm Chris

Chris Chase
Oneonta, NY
I'm a serial entrepreneur, photographer, and author based in Oneonta, New York. I've been building businesses in the tech industry for over 31 years, founding Directive, BriteAgency, and JoomConnect. That's the day job, and it's what I've spent most of my career doing.
But photography has always been the thing that keeps me grounded. I picked up a camera seriously about a decade ago, and it quickly went from hobby to obsession. I'm drawn to landscapes, cityscapes, and the night sky. Anything that requires patience and rewards you for showing up at the right time. Most of my work is shot on a Canon 5D Mark III, and I still shoot manual because I'm stubborn like that.
Living in upstate New York means I've got the Catskills in my backyard, which is pretty incredible for fall foliage. But I travel as much as I can. The American West, in particular, has produced some of my favorite work. Horseshoe Bend, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite. There's something about the scale of those places that makes you want to capture it, even though you know a photo can never quite do it justice.
I'm also writing more these days. My first book, Rogue AI, tackles the shadow AI crisis inside businesses: how to find it, fix it, and turn AI into a competitive advantage. I've got another one in the works.
This site is where all of that lives. The photography, the writing, the companies, and whatever else I'm working on. It's not a portfolio in the traditional sense. It's more of a home base. A place to put things.
If you want to get in touch, there's a contact page. I read everything.
Off the Clock
Motorcycling is a family thing. My wife rides, both of our boys ride, and most weekends you'll find us on back roads, group rides, or planning the next adventure. Even our dog comes along - she's got her own goggles.
